The Enemy Inside: Chapter 9Tarek glanced over his shoulder as the door shut behind him with a final hiss of its mechanism, the hair on the back of his neck standing on end. Tasys stood beside him, looking defiant, but inside he must have been trembling. There were a dozen or so guards, all armed, all pointing the muzzle of their chosen weapons at the two of them. He felt like a mouse in a cage, he had heard the analogy from Ves and found it appropriate at this time, but he couldnt let them know that. General Lerren was in his high chair upon the bridge, several delegates and interbase commanders on several computer screens beside him, each leader looking more disThe Enemy Inside: Chapter 9

The Enemy Inside: Chapt 8Tarek curled Ves fingers in towards his palm, checking the range of movement that his increasing control over the body could wield. The Enemy Inside: Chapt 6Ves lay back with a soft sigh, closing his eyes and relaxing, easing the tension out of his joints and muscles. It had been a long day, a long day that seemed to stretch even further than any long day should. Firstly with that flight here. He thought that sitting on his bum all day would make him want to jump up and down, and run around. But the hour or so of standing had countered that, and left him in this exhausted state. Ves stretched his legs lazily, sinking back into the mattress, looking up at the ceiling. It was comfortable, clean and new smelling. Better than his old bed. And, he didn’t have to share a room. He had one all to himselfThe Enemy Inside: Chapt 6
